Portfolio – Interviews

Honest interviews are less about performance and more about creating a space where people can be themselves. I film designers, architects, founders and individuals talking about their work, their process and the parts of life that sit behind it. Setups are simple and calm: a considered frame, controlled light, and sound that feels close but not intrusive.

Before we roll, we’ll shape the questions together and talk through what you’re comfortable sharing. On set, I keep things unhurried so the conversation can breathe — pauses, smiles, half-finished thoughts and all.

Portfolio – Street & Portraits

Street work is where I go to listen to the city. Walking through Kuala Lumpur and other cities, I’m drawn to strong light and shadow, small gestures in crowded spaces, and colours and textures that belong to specific streets.

I like cities best when they’re half-seen — in a reflection,

at the edge of a window, or as a soft blur behind the subject.

Many of these frames live on @louielim as single images or short sequences. This practice keeps my framing sharp and my instincts quick, especially when I’m working on fast-moving shoots like live interviews or brand events.

When I photograph people, I’m looking for the moment they forget about the camera. I make portraits for creatives, designers, architects, collaborators and friends — most often in their own spaces or somewhere that actually means something to them.

Why This Matters to My Clients

Keeping a steady practice in portraits, street and personal projects means I’m always learning outside of paid work. So when I step into your space or your story, I bring an eye trained to notice small, honest moments, I’m comfortable working quietly when something unexpected happens, and I’m always looking for images and sequences that feel alive, not just technically correct.

This page is the closest thing to my visual sketchbook. If the way I see here resonates with you, there’s a good chance we’ll make work together that feels true to who you are and what you’ve built.

Ready When You Are.

Drop me a message with your space, your story and your timeframe — I’ll take it from there.
